"Filling the playgrounds, athletic courts, and fields... not the prisons"

The Montclair PAL promotes trust, understanding and respect between youth and the police officers. Such respect is beneficial to the youth, the police officers, the neighborhoods, the business community and community leaders.  

The MPAL seeks to foster and encourage a spirit of loyalty and faith in the American traditions and institutions, to promote the spirit of benevolence, friendship, sociability, goodwill and tolerance; to cultivate and improve the moral and civic standards, to encourage active participation in constructive movements and endeavors for the promotion of the interest and general welfare of the youth of the community; to provide a safe meeting place where the youth may enjoy educational or social benefits and athletic activities under competent supervision.  

We continue our mission through our basketball program, which consists of six (2-girls, 4- boys) teams, fall and spring skills development sessions, Police Experience programs, monthly Friday activity nights.
